Worked example
An SVG without an xmlns attribute renders fine in HTML and fails when loaded as an image. That single missing attribute is the most common reason an SVG-to-PNG conversion produces a blank canvas.
SVG is resolution-independent until it has to become pixels. Rasterising at 512 px and scaling down in CSS gives a crisp result on every display; rasterising at 100 px and scaling up gives a blurred one, which is how most bad logo exports happen.
Sizing
Export at the largest size you will ever display, at 2× for high-density screens. A 32 px icon should be exported at 64 or 96 px.
