From 1 January to 26 October 2026 is 298 days — 42.6 weeks, 9 months 25 days, and 212 business days. Business days ignore public holidays, which vary by country.
Date arithmetic is not subtraction. Months have different lengths, so "one month later" is ambiguous at month ends, and daylight saving means some days are 23 or 25 hours long if you work in local time. Everything here is computed in UTC to avoid the latter.
Why business days are approximate
Weekends are a fixed rule; public holidays are not. The count excludes Saturday and Sunday only. For contractual deadlines, subtract the holidays that apply in the relevant jurisdiction.
