What Is Horror Mode?
Horror Mode is Sprunki's signature twist: the cheerful music-mixing game flips into a dark, corrupted version of itself. Character designs turn sinister, the background darkens, and the sounds shift from upbeat loops to eerie, distorted versions. It's the single most-shared Sprunki moment on TikTok and YouTube Shorts — and the main reason the game went viral.
How to Trigger Horror Mode
Most mainline builds and phases (including Phase 3+) include Horror Mode. Check the version you are playing supports it.
Look in the character/item selection area for a black top hat icon — this is the horror trigger.
Drag it like a character. In most builds, placing it anywhere on the stage activates the transformation.
Characters morph into their horror forms with a visual and audio shift. The change applies to the whole stage.
In some builds you can drag the hat onto a single character to transform just that one — experiment.
All Character Horror Transformations
Every character gets a dark redesign in Horror Mode. Here's what changes across the classic roster:
| Character | Normal | Horror form |
|---|---|---|
| Oren | Orange beatboxer | Corrupted, glitched design with distorted beat |
| Raddy | Red energetic character | Darkened, aggressive visual with harsher sound |
| Clukr | Silver mechanical character | Broken, damaged mechanical form |
| Fun Bot | Friendly robot | Malfunctioning, creepy robot variant |
| Vineria | Green nature character | Withered, twisted nature form |
| Gray | Gray calm character | Shadowed, ominous version |
| Brud | Brown bucket character | Cracked, leaking dark variant |
| Garnold | Gold armored character | Tarnished, battle-worn armor |
| OWAKCX | Yellow-green character | Warped, unsettling redesign |
| Sky | Light blue character | Storm-darkened, eerie form |
Exact designs vary between phases and mods — part of the fun is discovering each version's take.
Tips for Horror Mode
- Build your mix first, then transform: lay down a full normal mix, then drop the Black Hat for the most dramatic before/after contrast.
- Horror sounds layer too: the corrupted sounds still mix — try building an entire track in Horror Mode for a genuinely creepy composition.
- Not kid-friendly: Horror Mode can be intense. Keep younger players on the normal phase.
- Record the transformation: the morph moment is the most viral clip — capture it for Shorts/TikTok.
- Try different phases: each phase's horror designs differ, so re-trigger it in Phase 4, 5, 6 and 7 to compare.
